is plywood recommended to install these covers? are they vinyl or canvas?
Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Yes, if your metal pan is missing or rusted thru. We can do canvas or vinyl material. See the drop down box on material and color selections.

I have completed a frame off restoration of a 1951 M38. Turned out real nice with many parts coming from Kaiser Willys. Billy Bob and associates owned my Jeep for years before it was put back to its' former glory. Prior ownership did a lot of inovated engineering to include putting a 4-134 Jeep engine in it out of a Jeep truck manufactured from 46-49. The only reason I say that is because the manufacturer p/n, serial number, on the water pump starts with a capital "T". Hopefully, I am correct in my assumption. The question is, do I use Item # 647744A as a replacement carburetor?
Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
They orignally used a Carter YS on the Willys M38. But a Carter WO would work. Please call us toll free. Ask for Mike M. and i can go over options for you.

My Carter WO Core does not have the choke linkage #647799 on it. Is it still acceptable as a core for purchase of this rebuilt carb?
Willys Tech:
Yes, that would still be acceptable to send in.

My '48 truck keeps flooding. Had the carb rebuilt locally. still flooded. then installed fuel regulator. Still flooded, twice. Local shop said the regulator was defective. Installed a different (Holly) regulator I got from you. Still flooded. Any thoughts? Could the float be bad and not noticed in rebuild? Is there a Solex, or other brand, to replace the Carter? I've sort of lost confidence.
Willys Tech:
I would check your float height that may be off. Or I would make sure you dont have a stuck valve.

what type of core must be provided and what condition do ou require? Please indicate if the core must match the this particular carb.
Willys Tech:
The cores dont have to be perfect just complete. We ship you out what you send us in.
