What is the thread size of the knob

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
5/16 x 24 like original.

What transfercase does a 51 - M38 jeep have ?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Dana 18

I have a 1951 M38 and my transfercase shifters have no threads. Are push on knobs availibile?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Originally they all did. Sounds like your studs have broken off.

Does this knob have the 3/8-16 thread size

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
5/16-24 like original.

I brought this part for my 1946 CJ2A however the size of the thread you screw in is smaller than the shift lever thread l have. Mine is twice the size. All three levers threads are bigger

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
The knob we sent you is correct for all Willys D18 transfer cases. What has probably happened is your old stud broke off and someone retapped the larger part of your shaft. Or you have unoriginal levers.

Do these come in ivory? I think mine were ivory originally.

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
They were black originally. Yours may have just faded being so old.

I have an early cj2a with column shift. The shift lever has 3/8 course threads. Does this knob have the same thread? This knob appears to be round, is that correct?

Willys Tech:
I do believe it is fine thread like original.

Is item# 914946 original knob used on the power takeoff on the early 46 CJ2-A? rear PTO

Willys Tech:
Yes it can be used for that too.

What is the shifting pattern on a 49 WILLY'S JEEP. How do I shift the 2 shifters?

Willys Tech:
