Is this tank lined or galvanized to prevent rust?

No, but it is not required. As long as you keep non-ethanol fuel in it, they cannot rust out when full.

I'm a little confused by the images here. I've got a gear marked 18-8-19 and has the raised chevrons like the second picture. Does it matter which one of the two I receive?
