I have an old Gibson tractor with a 3 speed manual transmission and the case is stamped T96-1 but it is a top shifter with a four bolt pattern, have any idea what I have?

Looking for a gear shift lever, it works fine but the threads or what I assume are suppose to be threads are stripped and the only reason I want to replace it is because the knob will not stay on and I have actually tried to different knobs both ended up splitting and breaking off. Any ideas CJ5 1960
