I have a 1950 cj-3A what is the correct order of pressing of brake drum and hub assembly on rear Dana 44 and front Dana 25, there is locking hubs in the front Thankyou

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Email mike@Kaiserwillys.com and we can help you answer any questions. The main thing is when you press them together or apart - use a hydraulic press and give it plenty of backing.

I ordered these for my front wheels on my MB 45. I have Dualmatic hubs and the center diameter is too small to fit drum over. I have tried to connect the hub on top of drum but the wheel is to lose on spindle. Then I put the hub on first but drum center won't fit over it. I'm thinking I need Item # 808770 instead?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
These are the correct drums for your vehicle. The hub mounts on the outside of the drum and wouldnt really have anything to do with a lock out. Email mike@kaiserwillys.com some pictures and we can help you.

How much pressure is required to press new studs in through these drums? Would a 6 ton shop press do it, or does it need something heavier duty?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
I would think that would do it. Please give it plenty of backing so it doesnt warp or bend. Thanks!

Do you sell this drum and hub assembly with studs All assembled?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Youll need to press that all together there locally.

Do these drums fit the emergency brake?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
A9332 or A9335 are the e-brake drums.

The drums on our customers 1946 cj-2a measure 91/16, what is the minimum wear limit?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
.030 is max you can turn the original drums.

Can I order the A472 rear brake drum, 811351 rear wheel hub, and A474 studs as a complete assembly instead of individually? I don’t have a way to install the hub onto the drum face myself.

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
You will have to have a local brake/machine shop hydraulically press them together. Make sure they give it plenty of backing.

Do u carry the 9" rear drums that can be placed on the outside of the hub? I understand that someone has made them so u don't have to pull the hub to get at the brakes.

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
808770 is the part number.

How are the brakes adjusted with these drums? The originals have a slot to get a feeler gauge into. These do not have that slot.

Willys Tech:
You have upper and lower brake shoe adjusting eccetrics. You mechanics manual will detail it. You have to raise each wheel individually and turn the eccentrics in. Then adjust out untill you heard a audible drag but not enough to cause friction.

what is the inside diameter of the brake drum? I don't know if I can have current drums turned.

Willys Tech:
They are 9 drums inside to inside machine surface just like original.

How do you get the rear drum and hub back on the axle completely? The brake shoes are fully retracted and not dragging. I have completely cleaned the inside of the hub and axle shaft. The drum won't go on the last 1/2 to 3/4 inch. Thanks

Willys Tech:
The hub mounts on the outside of the drum. Make sure this is done properly. Also make sure the eccentrics are turned all the way in on each side. Then make sure the wheel cylinders are compressed putting the fluid back into the master cylinder. Also make sure all bearings are full seated as well as axle shaft.

I have a broken rear brake drum. My front and rear drums appear slightly different, (the front ones are slihtly deeper). You show only one kind for both front and rear as replacments. Is there a difference between front and rear drums? My jeep is a '49 CJ-3A

Willys Tech:
They used the same drums front and rear on the Willys. This will be proper.

How do I get the hubs off if my lugs are stripped? I cannot get the lug nuts removed. It is a 1952 CJ-3A. This project has been sitting for a number of years. The jeep runs and I just replaced the master cylinder, yet I get no brake movement from the drums. I assume the wheel cylinders are frozen. Any suggestions or advice is greatly appreciated.

Willys Tech:
Keep in mind some of the threads are reverse thread. That may be your problem. Alittle heat goes along way too.

what do you have to do to get the hub and lugs to fit the drum

Willys Tech:
You want to have them pressed together with plenty of backing in a hydraulic press is the best way.

Do you also sell the lug nut studs (left side) for this drum? I used the SHOP BY CATEGORY but could not find them...

Willys Tech:
Yes, they are part number: A473
