For restoring a 1958 Willys truck would it have originally had left hand thread wheel studs on driver side? Also for 1958 truck would it have originally had 13/16 or 3/4 lug nuts? I realize either will work but would like to restore to original condition.

Why did they use left hand thread on the left side of the vehicle in the early years and is it OK to use right hand threads on the left side if all are the same? I assume it was because of the rotation of the wheels but it seems like all newer models use right hand thread on both left and right side wheel hubs.
Tim:
They thought because of the rotation, the lug nuts could loosen off so they reversed the threads in the opposite direction.

Willys Tech:
Im really not sure why they used to do it. You can switch over to all right hand thread no problem.
