What is the difference between this and BRAKE2? The picture for the two is the exact same. I need the other style hubs like the one being pulled in the hub puller video. Is either of these kits supposed to be something different than what is pictured?

The master cylinder is the only difference. BRAKE2 has the early style master cylinder. BRAKE3 has the later.

Quick question I just got the brake set. Is the bigger pads the front and the smaller pads the back. Or am I way off??

My master cylinder is a Wagner FD-4564, which overhaul kit do i need?

The best way to tell is by checking your old master cylinder to see if the front mounting hole is threaded (if so, early) or if both mounting holes are threaded (late). Thanks

The master cylinder with this kit - which brake line kit for a '48 CJ2A do I order? One says early with threaded master v. none threaded? From the image, I am guessing it is the none threaded brake line kit?

If you are the early A556 threaded master cylinder you need MS00001 if you are the later 805223 master cylinder you need part number MS00002

I have ‘48 CJ2A with original drum brakes. What steps are required to separate the old drums from the hubs and install the new drums onto the hubs? Do I need to purchase new hubs also if I use this Brake#3 overhaul kit? Thanks Steve

For the rear, the best thing to have is a hub puller (HP600). For the front, you will need a socket (A692) and a front hub puller (HP700). Thanks

Do you carry brake backing plates (full set of four) for a CJ3A or an M38? Not sure if the 3A and M38's backing plates are interchangeable or not??? I have a CJ3A chassis with an M38 tub that I am putting together, but when I pulled the wheels to do new brake systems, but the backing plates don't match either CJ3A or M38. I have new cylinders, pads, springs, lines and hoses that came with the project. Thanks.

I have a 47 cj-2a and was looking at the brake kits... problem I am having is that I have 9 on the rear and 10 on the front..is that common or do I have a different set up than stock?? bought it years ago and want to get back on the road... I hope you can help!! thanks,

That is unoriginal. They always were 9 front and rear. We probabaly have the 10 parts on the shelf too.

yes I have a 49 cj3a and have ordered and returned multiple wheel cylinders from different companies and haven't got the right ones yet the ones I receive look like the ones in the pic above but mine are staggered mounting holes not straight across any info u could give me would b appreciated will order brake3 if it has the cylinders I need! thanks Josh.

Will this kit come with all the adjusting hardware and all other small bits for brakes not, dealing with lines that is. Its for a CJ2a 1946. i just want to make sure my brakes arent missing any insides pieces when this shows up. Thanks in advance
