New Dual Reservoir Master Cylinder Conversion Kit

This kit is an important safety upgrade from a single reservoir braking system.

The kit includes a dual reservoir master cylinder, mounting brackets and all required fasteners and instructions.

You will need a 3/8" drill bit, a double flare tool, or a buddy with a double flare tool to modify your existing brake lines. Its as simple as it gets!!!

However, you will have to run all new steel lines.

I bought a dual master cylinder replacement for a Disc to disc but I seam to lost the plunger what part number is the replacement ?

looks like a residual valve is built into rear of master,is this a fact and do you suggest residuals for front? what is the original applicaton of ths master cylinder?

This master cylinder is for a DRUM/DRUM upgrade. It does not have a proportioning valve.

A dual reservoir is a great safety upgrade for sure. For the best braking power yes, I would consider the disc set up for sure.

I have an M38A1 with disc brakes on front and rear. Can you tell me how far out from the frame rail this master cylinder will stick out compared to the stock master cylinder ? I have a Buick v6 in it and I'm not sure if I will have enough clearance between the bell housing and the master cylinder . Thank you.

I misplaced the adapter fittings to connect my brake lines to the conversion kit. Left Front is 3/16" and other is 1/4" I believe.

I have previously purchased a dual reservoir master cylinder for my '57 Wagon. I seem to have misplace the bench bleeding kit. May I purchase separately the bench bleeding kit?

A5510 is the part number.

When installing the lines, do you just split the existing line? Then nut and flare each section (front and back) and pipe into the Dual Master cylinder? Do i need a proportioning valve with this installation?

If you are running drum / drum brakes then no proportioning valve is typically needed. The larger reservoir line would go to front typically as well.

The way the steel lines come into the master cylinder is different from original. You will just have to bend to fit.

I purchased this kit and we're finally putiting it together. will the old plunger work with this M/C? because the kit doesn't come with one...

Its comes with half of the plunger that goes to the master cylinder. The pedal arm side of the plunger screws into our piece.

Why do I have to run all new steel lines? I just purchased new stock lines. Are those not compatible with this dual master cylinder?

You just need to bend/reroute the lines to the master cylinder at the frame.

I have a 58 pickup that still has the single reservoir master cylinder on it. If I put this master cylinder on can I use it when I eventually convert to disc brakes on the front end?

Yes, you would just need to switch the remote prop valve for a disc/disc set up.

The question below for the proportioning valve and your answer address's drum and drum brakes. Do you have and can provide the proper valve for a front disc brake conversion?

Its just a pressure switch so you line it in.
