I might buy this for my dads Jeep. Is this the hose that takes in air from the side of the grill on the front of the car and connects to the vent next to the drivers seat to let in cool air?

I have a 70CJ5 that I am purchasing this hose for. My question is the front connection. I have a hole in the radiator shroud and a matching one in the front fender. Is there supposed to be something between the two to connect this hose to or do I just connect to one side? The hole in the fender looks like something was attached but has long since rusted away It looks like it needs a y tube or something similar. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Randy

Is this the hose that goes to the intake of the heat exchanger unit in the engine compartment of early CJ5's
