I have a t86aa with a t90 input shaft( pilot tip length 1.5'' & diameter .629). Not sure what rear main shaft it has, so will this kit work with either? I also need a low & reverse gear are they the same?

I have a 1960 Jeep. The transmission appears to be okay but the shift handle is extremely sloppy. As a result it is hard to get it into gear. Any ideas what could be wrong.
Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
I would check your shift forks and you could have wear on the cane handle end as well.

What's causing my 48 CJ2A to jump out of second gear when I lift off the throttle
Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
If you are lifting the handle i would check the end of your cane shaft for wear as well as your shift forks and brass synchronizes too.

What is the difference between the t90 transmission with the 1-134 engine and the t90 transmission with a 225 V6 engine?
Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Its a bit usually to have a T90 paired with the V6225 motor. Usually you see the T86AA with the V6225. If you do in fact have a very early CJ-5 with that T90 set up - really just the input shaft different between the two T90's..

The synchronizer shift plates and springs are shown in your photo for P/N T90BSG transmission overhaul kit. There is a note next to the photo stating these parts are not included. I read some of the Q&A's associated with this kit and one of the answers said all parts shown in the photo are included. That is confusing. Are the synchronizer shift plates and springs included in this kit. If so, it would be less confusing if the note was deleted.
Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
This is for front spindle only. They didn't use this on the D44.

my 52 m38a1 makes a moderate whine/grind when driving that goes away when clutch is depressed I was told by a mechanic friend that it's probably the throw out bearing.... Is that a possibility? And does this minor kit have that?.... Thanks

Hi, I purchased a 61 cj5 with 2nd gear snycros out or so I was told. I rebuilt the trans and it worked fine for a few days except it would kick out of 2nd when decelerating then lost 2nd gear again. Upon taking off the top cover I saw that the top set of gears had moved back and would not allow the gears to mesh. I purchased syncro set and a few more parts to make sure everything stayed in place. But when finished even though shifter locks into 2nd the trans just grinds. Any ideas, thanks
Willys Tech:
It could be your 2nd speed gear itself as well. I would check it for wear as well.

I'm intending to overhaul the T90a1 and T18 in my CJ-3B. Can you tell me who made your overhaul kits. Can you tell me who manufactured the main bearings or where they were made (China, Japan, USA?). thanks for your time.
Willys Tech:
We have them done by our professional rebuilder. The bearings are US made.

I have a 1960 Willys Jeep Truck w/a 6-226 flathead in it. I am looking to overhaul the transmission and transfer case and am wondering if any shims are required on either one and if so do they come in the minor overhaul kit. I believe all the gears and shafts are in good shape but both need new seals and the transmission is making what sounds like front bearing noise. Thanks. MB
Willys Tech:
The only place there really are shims is on the rear output of the transfercase. This is a great kit that will take care of most of your problems.

I am getting a Jeep with a T90 3 speed in it, but the high and low gears do not work only the reverse does. Do I need a complete rebuild or is it something simple?
