For restoring a 1958 Willys truck would it have originally had left hand thread wheel studs on driver side? Also for 1958 truck would it have originally had 13/16 or 3/4 lug nuts? I realize either will work but would like to restore to original condition.

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
The left side of the vehicle would have had left handed studs. Right side would be right handed.

What should i do if the stud broke when removing the tires?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
We have new studs and even hubs if you need them. Happy to help.

I have a 1949 Wyllis jeep. What is the best way to remove a stud that is ready stuck. I already tried 2lb hammer and various other force methods..

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Never use a hammer. Always a hydraulic press with plenty of backing. Thanks!

Do these need to be swedged after being pressed in?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
It is recommended for safety.

What is the overall length of these wheel studs? Thank you!

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
1.554" overall

What size nerl on part A473 lug bolt for 41-71 Jeep-Willy’s. Need a .621 to .625

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Approx .629

Was wondering what the size of the knurl is?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Approx 1/2" in length.

Why did they use left hand thread on the left side of the vehicle in the early years and is it OK to use right hand threads on the left side if all are the same? I assume it was because of the rotation of the wheels but it seems like all newer models use right hand thread on both left and right side wheel hubs.

Tim:
They thought because of the rotation, the lug nuts could loosen off so they reversed the threads in the opposite direction.
Willys Tech:
Im really not sure why they used to do it. You can switch over to all right hand thread no problem.

I am purchasing new hubs so I wanted to know....Are these the same studs that you would need for the hubs, in other words, are these the wheel studs?

Willys Tech:
Yes, these are the studs for the hubs and drums that your lug nuts go onto.
