Are any of the seals double liped seals?

They don't use double lip seals. These will be high quality neoprene seals.

Are ther any compatibility issues known with these seals and lubricants? (Synthetic vs. Mineral Base) Or with any additives that may be found in newer lubricants? Do you recomend a specific brand/type?

We typically use 90weight gear oil. Basically anything being produced today is way better than what they used back in the 40's.

I'm a fairly good mechanic but wonder if rebuilding the rear end is something I should farm out. How difficult a job is this?

How can i tell which axle is in my 48 2A? I can not find any marking on the axle. Thanks
