I have a CJ2A that has a speedometer that has both the odometer and trip odometer on it. Will this one work on a CJ2A? The speedometer that you list for the CJ2A does not have the trip odometer...
Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Originally, the 2A did not have that. But yes you can use this.

The Speedometer currently in my CJ2A is similar to the one pictured above. However, the numerals are MUCH larger and the 0,10,20 and 30 are painted with Luminous paint. Just one odometer which is in the lower half with 6 positions. (No trip meter). Long Needle. I haven't seen another like this in a Jeep. Could it belong to another vehicle? Dodge truck? I believe it is period correct and not an aftermarket...

I'd like to modify my ECJ-5 to a mechanical speedometer (not use the electronic cluster) - will the speedo cable on my Jeep work with this speedometer? I realize there is a size difference in the stock speedo versus this one.
Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Your CJ-5 would be a mechanical speedometer too. Email mike@kaiserwillys.com to help.

are the threads the same on the back of the civilians speedometer as the military so I can connect it to my speedometer cable?
Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Yes, that is right on the speedometer end. The transferase end is different though on the M38/A1.
