HI , I HAVE A 1962 JEEP CJ5 WITH 4 CYL F HEAD , WHICH IM CONVERTING TO 12 VOLT, WHAT WIRING HARNESS SHOULD I USE? THANKS LOU

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
HARNESS-04. We make them to the year and model. Thanks!

Greetings. Is there a way a fuse block could be added to the harness? Otherwise, looks good. Best, Jim

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
You would just have to wire one up on your end. They were never used originally.

Will this work for a CJ-6 V6?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
We make them to the vehicle. So no problem there. We can do it for the CJ-6 as well.

Hi there, I got my “59” Willy’s CJ5 in 1970. I still have it. We did engine swap from f134 to a dauntless 225 v6 in 1975. My wiring now is Mickey Moused. 🤷🏽‍♂️ Will your harness work with my light’s & dashboard gauges? As well as the engine? Thanks any info would be appreciated. Dennis

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
It might be better if you give us a call to discuss. Ask for Mike M

My Son has a 1959 Willey CJ5. What voltage is the original system, and why would the battery continue to drain a 12V battery. Do you know if the original Manual, would have a wiring diagram?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
That year typically 12 volt. Email mike@kaiserwillys.com to help and see what all is going on.

I just inherited a 1970 CJ-5 VIN 8305C17356882 from a friend who purchased it new in 1970. He passed away 5 years ago and his brother gave it to me. My question is because it was built in Canada (C) are there any special things i need to be aware of when ordering parts?

I currently have an old Painless wiring harness that includes their fuse block on my 1971 CJ5 with a 225 V6. The wiring throughout my project Jeep is in pretty rough shape. (Engine was not in it, dangling poor quality wires everywhere). If I go with this harness, how would I connect each circuit into the existing Painless fuse block?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Fuse blocks are unoriginal. You would have to contact painless on how they have it set up.

I have a 1967, CJ5, Dauntless 225 V6. I would like to install your wire harness however, it appears so original that there are no fuses. Painless and others have included a fuse block, but provide for items not on my jeep. Theirs is not original. Does your kit allow for or include a fuse block or fuses?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
You would just wire in a fuse block inline.

Pretty sure Im going to have to rewire an entire 1969 Jeep. Just trying to make sure this is what I'm looking for. Does this kit come with all of the connectors to hook up to and plug into things like alternator and the engine starter and coil?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
These are complete wiring harnesses all pre terminated like factory original.

I have a 71 cj5, with v6 225.. can not get the rear backup lights to come on.. I tested the switch on top of the trans.. seem to work. where does the hot wire come from.? how can i down load the wire instuctions..

Chrles David Sparks:
Back up lights are powered in the run position. With the trans in reverse you should have a closed switch, zero ohms on a meter and infinite when not in reverse. If all you have is a test light than check for light on both sides of the switch when it is in reverse. Check your hayes manual to see if there is a fuse or relay in the circuit, i can not see a relay being there since the draw is so low. Hope this helps.
Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Pretty sure its off the ignition but will have to confirm.
