Questions & Answers
Hi Mike, Hi Jason, When threading the studs into the block, can you recommend a sealant to use? The reason I ask is that the studs penetrate the water jacket and I really want to avoid any leaks if possible (have enough leaks already!). Thanks, Dan
Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
You can use some stud formula RTV. Pretty much any high temperature, waterproof RTV gasket maker will work.

Will this work to attach the intake manifold to the block?

I recently broke off a stud in my block of a '61 CJ5. I was unable to use any extractors to remove it and was forced to drill it out. I have been able to remove all but just the thread location and am looking to use a tap to cut new threads. I wanted to confirm what is the diameter and NC for the Stud that goes into the Block? Thanks!

Why does the kit have a set of 8 Pieces when the manifold only uses 5 for fastening to the block. Not sure if mine was modified but it has 3 - 3/8-16 on the center ports and uses 7/16-14 on the end ports.

You are correct. This kit comes with extra studs. Thanks
