My '55 M38A1 has 12 ct. leaf spring on the front and 13 on the rear. They are threaded for C shackles, which makes me believe they are not aftermarket. Is there a jeep model that has heavy springs that these may have been swapped from?
Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
They are original. They M38A1 did use a heavy set as well.

Hello Mike. Does it matter the make of the leaf springs if both are 10 leaf and measure the same?
Willys Jeep Parts Tech:

Hello, as i understand it more leaves are to accommodate more weight in the truck instead of adding to the ride height? what would you recommend for installing a 31" tire? My 56 CJ5 is stock but i plan on adding a winch in the near future.
Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Yes, more leaves allow for more weight but will not effect your ride height.

Hello, my 56 CJ5 has a 5 leaf pack in the front. Will this make the ride height taller than stock? The Willy's has a f-134

All our leaf springs will set you back up to stock height.

I bought a 55 M38a1. The front springs rear shackles are worn to the extent that the stock shackle passes through the frame. What kind of bushing can I use to expand in this space and use a hanger. Or is there another fix?
Willys Tech:
We do sell the shackle brackets. A500 & A544 or 645966 are the part numbers.

I need to replace my front leaf springs do your come threaded on the one end I have threaded brackets if not what do I have to do.Thank you mike
Willys Tech:
If you have a M38A1 then you are gonna be threaded on the shackle end. These work for both CJ-5 and M38A1. The threaded bushing will bit into the metal on the spring and thread in. Or you can use a CJ-5 steel/rubber bushing and it presses in.

Willys Tech:
It depends on your FC-150 if you are dual rear wheels or not. Please call us toll free. We can go over your options.

Are these springs new, or NOS? Does it matter? I'm not worried about an exact restoration, but I don't want to cobble things together either. The springs on my 1953 m38a1 actually have 11 leaves if you count the short strap on the bottom next to the axle housing.
Willys Tech:
There is really no such thing as NOS on these. These are brand new ready for install and the proper springs for your vehicle.
