Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
No, in this instance the Dana 27 is a rear axle.

This is a front axle ring and pinion. It is not a front AND rear set.

i have a 53 m38a1 with 5.38 i would like to know if axle housings from a 64 cj5 would bolt to my chassis with out any modifications

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
As long as you match the Dana and the ratio it would.

I have a '54 CJ3B that with 5.38 ratios, I'd like to run 4.27, but I don't see a ring and pinion listed for the Dana 25 front, is there an option for this?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Your best bet is part number: SATURN This is a bolt on application.

Is this compatible with an m38 that has a dana 44 rear axle/

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
This is for Dana 23/25/27 only.

Are these nos ww2 gear sets

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
801999 is NOS. This is new.

Hello, I'm looking for a replacement ring and pinion for my 53 CJ3A, the rear axle ID leads me to believe its a Dana 44. The original parts are both labeled Salisbury 43-8. I ordered a set from another vendor and those parts are labeled Dana 43-8, unfortunately the pinion is slightly larger and the ring gear does not line up with the bolt pattern on the gear case. I'm wondering if the Salisbury and Dana models were slightly different and where I might be able to locate the right parts? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Please email mike@Kaiserwillys.com and we can help you out.

Hello, I am looking for the Dana 25 41/9 (4.55 ratio) ring and pinion. But I cannot find it in your drawings. Do you have this part?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:

Will these ring and pinions work in the dana 41? If not what is the difference?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
This is for a Dana 23/25 only. The Dana 41 is only available used right now.

Do you have the pinion adjusting fixture or a different procedure for installing the right shims for the pinion? So far I think I'm only in need of pinion bearings, but would like to check everything while in there. I don't know have long it has been run with bad pinion bearing?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
We can try to help. Our mechanics manuals do cover it as well. Please call us toll free. Ask for Mike M.

I am looking for a ring and pinion for a 72-73 CJ-5 Dana 27 39X8 (4.88) Do you have any available?

Willys Tech:
I will want to get the numbers on your ring and pinion. They are typically a 5 digit code. Please email them to mike@kaiserwillys.com There is a good chance I have them NOS on the shelf.

I have a 43 GPW. I use it for hunting and it needs to be lower geared. the number I see on the front transfer is CP3075?

Willys Tech:
That is going to be really tough. This is pretty much the only ratio they make for it.

My friends are buying willys jeeps, and we are curious as to the axle ratio. Where do I look on the axle housing and what numbers am I looking for to tell the ratio?

Willys Tech:
It is usually stamped on the pumpkin housing. Or you can count the number of teeth on your ring and the number of teeth on the pinion. You can also get the numbers stamped on the r&p itself and we can trace it and tell you.

I have willys pick up truk 1954 Mod. 475 with 4.88axels set I want change axels ratio for lower ratios like 373 to ingres the speed. I want know if is pocible with the same axel case.

Willys Tech:
If you are wanting to go faster down the road part number: SATURN is the way to go.

Will the 4.88 ring and pinion gear set work in a dana 25 that currently has 5.38 gearing?

Willys Tech:
Yes but you have to make sure your front and rear match ratios or you wont get very far down the road.
