I also can't figure out how to get that seal out. I tried a seal puller. It rips the rubber part up. Would a flat screwdriver work better? I have the cover off and can see it has to come off from the inside

We use a screw driver. Just dont mess up the timing cover.

Really it should just pry out of there if it is a oil seal like part number above. Then press in new one.
