I was reading the question about the Neoprene oil seal, and in your answer you said don't put the felt oil seal in dry. My question is if you order the aftermarket front bearing retainer do you have to use the neoprene oil seal and the felt oil seal together?

For the front transmission oil seal, when you place it in the retainer, which direction should it face. Should the open side be placed face down or the other way around?

I usually put the black faced side towads the transmission. However i dont think this really matters. It is a compression seal. The main thing is to not put the felt seal in dry.
