how do I get the old fuel gauge out of the housing. I have removed 9 nuts and washers but the housing looks molded and the glass front will not screw off. for part 8126919 that I was sold for my 1957 CJ-5 Thank you for your help David Pesek
Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
You should be able to remove it from the backside of the housing. Email mike@kaiserwillys.com what your seeing so we can help.

I have s 621 willys wagon that has been restomoded. It has an OEM fuel tank. I am buying a sending unit for this model year from you. Will the sending unit work with an aftermarket fuel gauge which is, btw, mounted under the dash?
Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
As long as your gauge in the dash is OHM'd for the original sending unit specs your all set.

I have a '61 12 v. truck that I recently installed a new sending unit. The current gauge is integrated into the speedometer housing and I don't want to buy another on just to get the fuel gauge going. I noticed in the fuel gauge picture that it does not appear to have a glass cover and mount but will work. Does it have glass and a mount bracket? Thanks!
Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Your old gauge will come out from the backside of your speedometer cluster - then you put this one in its place. See 914845 and its wiring as well.
