Does the installation of this fuel filter require cutting the fuel line running between the tank and pump, and splicing in the filter?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Yes, you would splice this in.

Does it matter what size of fuel filter you use? I am curious about the amount of fuel my 48 CJ2A would be getting vs. a smaller filter? The one I am currently looking at buying is 1/4”

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
I dont think the physical size of filter matters as much as you have the correct 1/4" fuel lines going to it.

I need to replace the fuel filter on my 46 cj2a, but all I can find is tin in-line filter. I have the glass bowl filter and can't seem to find it anywhere... am I good to use the in-line? Are those original parts? I'd like to keep it as original as possible.

Willys Tech:
That is an aftermarket fuel filter on your vehicle currently. They never originally had one.

I think there used to be a bracket to hold the fuel filter along the engine block right next to the fuel pump. Would you have that bracket?

Willys Tech:
This is an aftermarket filter kit. Willys never mounted these along the engine block.

What size is the hose diameter?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
¼ ID ½ OD

I noticed it comes with two hoses do those hoses connect to the existing jeep gas hose line on each end with the connected filter in between?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Yes, it hooks inline between your tank and fuel pump on the fuel line.

So your Saturn is the unit for my 1942 Willys MB with the Dana 18 & T90; ....but for my "other" baby: the 1963 Willys J200 Gladiator Fleetside Truck...I have modified to: 68 Ford 302 V8 with BorgWarner T18 transmission and a Dana 20 Transfer Case....do you have another OverDrive you can recommend for that animal?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Sorry I do not carry an overdrive for the Dana 20 transfer case.

I have put on an aftermarket fuel pump and bypassed the original. Is there a cap I can purchase to cover the hole in the engine block if I remove the original fuel pump? Or should I just have one milled.

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
You will have to make one of those locally if you are using a remote fuel pump.

On a 1969 cj5 replacement fuel filter marked in on one side and out on the other, is the in where gas flows in from the tank and out side connected to carburetor side?

Willys Tech:
Yes, out is to the fuel pump. In is from the tank.

Which way is the in on the filter supposed to go

Rick:
"IN" is stamped on one end of the fuel filter. The "IN" side goes to the hose nearest the gas tank.
Willys Tech:
I dont think it really matters on that. The housing would be arrowed if it did.

where is the fuel filter located on a 1954 CJ-3B jeep

Willys Tech:
They were not originally used. We typically recommend using this inline one between the tank and fuel pump.
