Does this meter have the cutouts for the lighting from behind the dash on an M38?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
No, they did not have this on this gauge. It was lit up from the protruding dash light.

Will this fit a 1956 CJ6 with a f134 engine?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Yes, but you would have to drill a hole in your dash for it since the CJ-5 had a different speedometer.

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:

Does this temp gauge have the slots behind the face to let the red dash light show through?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
No, the civilian gauges were illuminated via the dash light above the cluster of gauges.

My 1953 M38A1 has a capillary tube temperature sending unit/gauge and a 24V electrical system. Will this gauge with my Jeep?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
A3557 is the original fitting in the head you are missing.

Is this gauge lighted. If not do have one that is. THANKS

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
These gauges not lighted. Give me a call toll free and we can go over what vehicle you have and what we can set you up with. Thanks 888.648.4923

Can I buy the sensor and wire without the gauge? My gauge works fine, I just messed up the wire when I was pulling the motor.

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Sorry, these are only sold as a unit and are one piece already attached.

I will be changing the water temp gauge in my 49 CJ3A. I assume there is no need to be gentle removing the probe from the block. Would a pipe wrench be good for that?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Just make sure the fitting doesnt break and use the proper size wrench.

Not sure how to remove pressure gage. It looks like there is an outer face ring that holds it in place? Or does the bracket on the back side only hold it in place?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
There is just a bracket from the backside. It slides out then from the front.

Does the probe mount in the top of the head on the drivers side? What adapters wound I need to install it? I believe the hole in the head is 1/2" NP.

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
It mounds to the rear passenger side of the head. They take the original adapter part: A3557

while installing new temp gauge on my 48 CJ2a, it appears that I somehow broke the sending unit on the head and it doesn't work now. The gauge is new and will probably work fine if I can install a new cable and sending unit. Do you sell these seperately? Maybe it would be cheaper just to buy the whole assembly and start over. What do you recommend.

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
If it broke the unit will need to be replaced. Please call us toll free and we can help.
