Willys Jeep Parts Tech.:
You can mount these just about anywhere on the vehicle. They tuck up under the dash so it usually doesn't effect leg room too much.

These can be used on just about any Willys. They will work for all.

Have 48 Jeepster 6 v system. Anybody working on a 6 volt heater or can you keep an eye out for one to recondition?

How do you route the defrost? Do you have to cut holes in the dash or does it hang on the outside? Is there a vent for this purpose or do you have to make your own. I will be ordering one but need to plan so I can do whatever cutting I need to before paint, which is coming soon.

You offer a heater that fits a 42 GPW but is a 12 volt . The 42 GPW is 6 volt. How does that work?

Do you have these in 24 volt?

Willys Tech:

I have the original 6 volt system in my CJ-3A I see since 2010 the answer to the question of do you have a 6 volt heater has been... its in development. By 2013 you replied... hope next year. Well now 5 years , Do you have a heater that works with a 6 volt system? If not, do you think you ever will and if so, please be specific when it will be available. I really have been checking for years.

Ron:
For those people who want to put a 12v heater in a 6v jeep just add a resistor from 12v to 6v pretty simple to do.
Willys Tech:
Sorry, our supplier has not yet come up with a 6 volt version for us.

Is there a product or installation manual available for this? If not, what else is required for installation? Does it just get connected as a loop in the coolant lines? Would be for a 48 CJ2A that was not set up with a heater...

Willys Tech:
Its pretty straight forward and is just a loop system. We can also fax you over the instructions if you need us to. Mike@kaiserwills.com email us your fax number there.

This has to be better than the original heater. Can you please send me the installation and wiring instructions so I can see what I will have to do to install this heater. I am assuming it is not a direct replacement and some modifications will be necessary. Thanks.

Willys Tech:
Please email mike@kaiserwillys.com and we can fax you over some instructions.

I have a 52 Willy's Pickup. Has been converted and has a Chevy 350 in it. Will this unit adapt to this set up?

Willys Tech:
Yes, it should work just fine. Its an under dash and wont interfere.

Does this kit come with a on/off switch or is that something I need to buy separately .

Willys Tech:
Yes it will have a switch with it.

I know this was asked in the past but didnt see new, is there a way to run this on 6V?

Rick:
you do not want to run a 12 volt electric motor on 6 volts. installing a resistor in a 6 volt system will drop voltage not step it up to 12 volts. you can replace the 12 volt motor with a 6 volt motor. just have to research the motor out. I would do it before you buy the kit.
Jack :
you can add a resistor available at auto supply shops to drop 12 to 6 volt. I did this on an old jeep wagon when i converted it to 12V and kept original 6V heater motor. Did same for radio.
Willys Tech:
Sorry these are for 12 volt only.

I have a 1954 willys pickup and need just a heater core where can I get one of these

Willys Tech:
You will have to try a salvage yard or have yours reconditioned locally for that.

Looking at this heater I noted it had a 12 volt fan motor. My '49 CJ3A is only a 6 volt system. Do you make a kit to convert a 6 volt to 12 volt system? Larger brake kits too? Thanks so much.

We do sell alternator conversion kits, coils, hi-torque starters ect. Please call us toll free and we can quote you out.

I have a 1950 CJ-3A with factory heat and need a 12 volt electrical motor to fit in the place of the 6 volt motor, Do you have such a critter? Thanks Shawn

Willys Tech:
This would be your best option. I dont believe that is something available.

Looking for replacement cable for heater, etc as well as dash parts for a 1968 cj5 and can't seem to find them on your site

The heater cables are a local item. Nobody reproduces those currently.

Have the 6volt heaters come out yet?

Willys Tech:
Sorry not yet.

The heater information states one ducted unit can heat driver and passenger and the other can be used as a defroster. Does it come with both? Or do you have to purchase a second unit?

Willys Tech:
You can route it either way.

Can you tell me if the front pulley on an L6-226 is a vibration damper or a harmonic balancer?Or is this covered in the shop manuel?Thank you.

Willys Tech:
It is a bit of both. Its covered in the shop manuals we sell as well.

Does the heater fit up under the dash out of sight. My 1942 MB has a glove box so it can't go up above the passengers feet like it could on a CJ2a that has not glove box. Just exactly where does it fit?

Willys Tech:
It is barely visible under the dash when mounted up high. You can really put it up just about anywhere center to passenger side.

Does it come with a heater control valve? It can be adaped to other vehicles?

Willys Tech:
If you want a separate on/off valve for summer you just have to line it in. It can be used on about anything.
