My '71 CJ5 225-V6 has the factory stock 5-blade asymmetrical fan. I have seen these on many 225-V6's. It is one of the world's true mysteries on why some 225-V6's have this set up. The explanations include it reduces sound pulsating from the odd fire motor, it makes front engine access easier, etc, etc. Does anyone know the true reason for these fans and are they available?

My honest opinion is that during that time alot of changes were being made from the factory and they used what they had available. This blade would be be the only one available and works great.
