Have 54 M38A1, the port from the oil dipstick is open currently (how I got this when purchased about 1 year ago). Seems the open port connects to the oil bath cleaner. How important that this connection is made? What kind of valving is on this part and why? Just wondering what I should do to fix this if needed or what is the impact if this is an open port?
