Questions & Answers
I have 1953 M38A1. On the exploded view for "FRONT AXLE - DIFFERENTIAL CASE AND GEARS", item 1 shows only one item. However, when I look at item 1 in the parts list, there are 2 items indicated: A779 NEW FRONT INNER AXLE SHAFT OIL SEAL, and A780 NOS THRUST WASHER FRONT AXLE SHAFT (BENDIX U JOINTS). Are both required, or is only one required. Not sure how to determine this?

This would replace the brass bushing that was used with the Bendix axels? ie I need to remove the old bushing when replacing the Bendix with a spicer axel? It seems like there should also be a seal in the location to keep the knuckle lube in the knuckle ?
