I installed a rope rear main in my engine when we redid it and it still leaked oil is there anything that can be done?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Check to make sure the machine surface is clean and good as well as the inserts are properly in as well and filler block straight. Please email mike@Kaiserwillys.com to help.

Are the side gaskets in this kit a rubber type material or cork?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
You will need to physically check what is in the vehicle and stick to that. If you need more assistance, give us a call.
Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Not sure which seal your referring to. Please email mike@kaiserwillys.com to help.

stupid question, How can I tell if I have rope or the neoprene seal. Is there a visual clue to tell without dropping the pan. I'd like to get the parts needed before I start if possible. I also see the 226 entire engine seal kit comes with a neoprene rear main seal and not the rope seal? thanks much! Mike

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
The earlier 6-226 were rope and the later 1959 + were neoprene but its best to check to it. Email mike@kaiserwillys.com to help.

can i convert my rope seals to neoprene ? super hurricane 6

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
No, if you have rope you have to stick with rope and same for neoprene.
