The kit doesn’t include the spacers between the oil pan and the pulley shield, what do you recommend? Do you have to use spacers?

Shouldn't the washers be flat washers rather than lock washers. I bought one of these kits for my oil pan and could not get it to stop leaking until I replaced the lock washers with flat washers. The lock washers were bending the pan around the bolt hole and causing it to pooch rather than compressing the gasket. There was oil seeping out all the way around. I replaced the pan gasket three times, using a different brand of gasket each time. The leaks did not stop until I went to the hardware store and bought some hardened, grade 8 flat washers. Note that my CJ5 was a barn find with a mismatched set of bolts and washers on the pan, before I bought this kit. Leaks around the pan were not a problem before I bought this kit. I just thought that it would be nice to have a set of new bolts and washers.
