What material is this made of? I know the original were felt. Also, how is this attached to the cowel? I see a series of holes (similar to staple holes, in sets of two) around the cowel. It it attached with wire piercing the deflector and then twisted to set it in place? Does this kit come with all parts necessary to attach it, since it is a kikt?

It is a welt material. They used a small screw and washer to attach. That is local hardware store.
