Does it matter which side this goes on -- Passenger vs Drivers

When re-installing the bearing retainer, is the order of assembly critical? Upon disassembly one side had, from the axle flange, shims then bearing retainer, the other side vice versa. I would like to reassemble the axle correctly of course.

Will this fit the two front seats in a 1959 CJ-5? Also, I have the same question for the top seat cover & cushion.

Are these bearing retainers (item # 7351313) perfectly flat or do they have a slight concave? I have a 1954 CJ3B w/modified Dana 44 (Dutchman Axle shafts) with disc brakes and the rear passenger side retainer is concaved (doesn't require shims) while the rear driver side retainer is flat (requires shims). Thank you..
