Have a 68 cj5..... My throttle return spring seems real light. When I push the accelerator, you barely feel any direct pressure of the gas pedal under your feet. I replace the throttle return spring with one from NAPA auto, however this spring too seems pretty weak. Is this throttle return spring a little heavier? That is, is it one that is close to an original, or is it a duplicate of ones found at NAPA?
Willys Tech:
I doubt NAPA would sell the correct one. This is the proper, original tension spring used on that for the 4-134 engine.

Do you have an illustration where this spring goes? Ours is missing. Thanks!
Willys Tech:
It depends on your vehicle. There should be a small tap it clips onto.

This is the same spring that gos' from a bolt on the side of the block to the gas pedal linkage right?
Willys Tech:
Yes that is correct. It is different for some vehicles but it works for all.
