If piston #1 is at top dead center and both gears are lined up on marks on a CJ3A is the timing correct? What valves would be up in this position?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Please email jason@kaiserwillys.com and we can send you over the manuals timing sheet info.

There is a gear spacer that goes on the crank after the crank time gear. Between the gear and the pulley. As i was getting ready to install it, what appears to be a gasket or plastic spacer on the inside of it that cracked and fell apart in my hand. is this something important or maybe it was just dry out impacted grease? what do you think?

Willys Tech:
There is noting plastic there. There are thrust plate and shims.

I have recently purchased a 1951 willys pickup, the engine is leaking oil from the lower crank pulley also seems noisy by pulley, what is your educated quess on problem and possible parts needed, thanks, new at this game.

Willys Tech:
If you have noise you will want to check your timing gears for sure. We have new seals and gaskets for there too. It may just be your belt as well.

We have a 63 Jeep 134 F head engine that was brought to our facility already disassembled by someone else and we are being asked to install the new timing gears for camshaft operation. There are NO marks on either the crankshaft or camshaft gears for timing purposes. Must have something to do with thye key ways. can you help with the proper markings?

Willys Tech:
I would just time if off top dead center on number one.
