These wiper arms have splines but the wiper motor does not. The arm does not slide on far enough to get the nut on. Am I doing something wrong?

This might be a tough question but chances are it’s been asked before. During the history of the GPW & MB there was a change from the simple manual tandem lever operated wipers to an upgraded system that used a wiper lock and a tension wiper arm with a 9 inch blade. These parts are difficult to find and there doesn’t appear to be an aftermarket reproduction yet. I found a seller in the UK that has 1/2 of one upgraded side( wiper lock bracket, crank handle and nut. I have pics if needed) I need to find a tension wiper arm and blade that will fit onto the crank handle, does anyone know if the tension arm from a vacuum system will fit on this crank handle? A huge thanks in advance
