The notes state that the Early CJ-2A axle shafts with threads on the ends need to be cut down. My CJ-2A is a '47. Does this qualify as an early CJ-2A? I am very new at this and curious what kind of tool is used to cut it down?

That would be a 2A. But i would pull the dust cap and see if your threaded or not. A lot of times people have later style axles and its not an issue.

I have a 46 CJ2A it states that the axel needs to be cut down in order for the hubs to fit. How do I cut that and to what length?
Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Alot of people will take just enough off the threaded end so you don't have a clearance issue.

I have a 1946 CJ2A with the stock flanges on the front but the threads have been completely removed back to the spline so, there is nothing to keep the axle (Bendix style) from moving in and out. Would a set of these work and keep the axles from moving in and out? If not how do I get this right?
