Will this lower seat cover and cushion work with factory steel seat pan?

Yes, you would just have to attach the material to the existing wooden pans.

What was the original seat cover material in my 53 CJ3B? The ones I have in there almost look like a black Naugahyde.

Typically you would see a canvas material in that year which we have in a number of colors. But we also offer it in vinyl as well.

If you have a metal pan with upholstery hooks we can do a seat cover and cushions with a draw string. Or if you want to get away from the metal pan and not use one then we do a complete set up with plywood pan all stapled and ready to go with cage nuts to bolt to the frame itself.
