How do i ship my carb core to you?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech.:
Write CORE on the outside of the box. Put your name and number on the inside of the box. We will call you as soon as we get it in. Thanks!

Will this work on a 47 flat head?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Yes, the 4-134 L that is correct.

What is the process of sending this into you?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Write "CORE" on the outside of the box. Put your name and phone number in box so when we receive it, we know who to call. You can find our address under the "customer service" tab in the upper right hand corner. Thanks

All of my linkages on my W-O carb have the Carter stamp in a circle, is there any way to re-use these same linkages when I send in my carb for a rebuild ?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
We should be able to help. Email mike@kaiserwillys.com

Hi there, We have a CJ2A here in South Africa that we rescued from Zimbabwe. It has had some donar carb installed on it but we would like to get it back to the original carb. I'm not very mechanical - but are you able to supply us with the carb that we need? I see you talk about the carb as well as the core - we do not have either as far as I know. Would appreciate your help and if possible supply! Kind regards, Tyler Slement

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
We should be able to help out. Please email mike@kaiserwillys.com

I bought with you a kit to rebuild the carburetor, it came with a manual to help but I ended up losing it. Can you email me?

Have a 1952 cj3a I bought rebuilt kit for the cater wo carburetor. Completely replace everything including float. Jeep now floods out at slight acceleration. Any suggestions be appreciated thank you

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
I would check your vacuum draw at idle (475 rpm) once warm and no longer choked. You should have 20" of draw. Also check your float drop height is right.

I just replaced the choke cable on 46-CJ2, it idles high with the choke in and and too low with the choke out. Just purchased the jeep it runs. old choke cable was frozen. I am wondering if carburetor would have been adjusted with the frozen choke setting. Most of the idle screws will move. Was considering a carb rebuild unless it may be something else causing the problem.

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
I would check what your vacuum draw is. At idle (475 rpm) once warm and no longer choked you should have 20 inches of vacuum draw.

We have 1930 Chrysler modell 70 roadster, which has a Carter WA-1 carb. we have rebuilt it twice, but it floods and seems beyond our ability to remedy. Do you have a replacement we can use? happy to sent in the WA-1 core thanks Jim

I have the original tagged carb for my '46 CJ-2A. Is there a way to send my carb in for rebuild and get the same unit back?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Yes, that is what we do. Write CORE on the outside of the box. Put your name and a good phone number inside the box. We'll call you as soon as we get it in. Thanks!

I have a 1952 CJ3A that someone swapped the L-head and installed a F-head motor in . Do you guys offer a lower style carburetor or have any suggestions so i can put the stock hood back on with out cutting a hole in it ? Thank you

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
A lower profile carb no unfortunatley not.

I ordered 647745-MK and attempted to rebuild my Carter carburetor off a CJ2A. However, I couldn't get most of the jets out of the body. I tried soaking in penetrating oil and grinding screwdrivers down to exactly match the slots in the jets, but I couldn't get them out. I'm to the point now where I'm ready to buy a rebuilt carburetor from you. However, I was wondering if mine could still be used as a core since the jets won't come out.

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
This would be fine. We will be able to take your core and rebuild it. The process takes about 4-5 weeks.

Can you jet the carburetor for higher elevation (9,000+) before you send it out or will I have to do this once I get it?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
I can see if its a possibility. Please email mike@kaiserwillys.com to help.

Is there any chance you ship just the rebuilt carburetor without having to send you the core? We do have the core but we just need the item # 647744.

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
I do have a few cores available for sale currently. They are $250. Please email mike@kaiserwillys.com or call us toll free.

Do You sell the complete L4-134 overhaul kit without the oil pump?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Give us a call toll free and we can set you up. 888-648-4923. Thanks

We have this carburetor on our 46' CJ2A. At times, we have a flooding issue where the float gets stuck, fuel is pouring out. What suggestions would you have to help avoid/reduce this issue? Fuel pressure too high? Would the Solex carburetor be a better option? Thanks

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
I would check your float drop height. Also you may be flooding because fuel is not discharging. This can be caused by poor vacuum or the timing being off. Remember too you should never have to to idle above 550 rpm. If you do these are definitely an issue on the motor.

I need a 539s and i dont have a core. How much is it without a core

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Please email mike@kaiserwillys.com and I can try to help.

How about an height extinction’s like on 923806 Solex, the cater I have has stacks of gaskets every place the carburetor splits, to gain height to connect to air cleaner

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
The height of a solex 923806 and this are the same.

They come with a 1 year warrenty and are show quality. Many times we have rebuilt ones ready to go. If we need to rebuild yours it runs 3-5 weeks typically.

I need a carter W-O for my '43 Willys MB. I have a rebuild kit but the existing carb needs more work than I can do. If you rebuild my carb, and I send the kit I bought from you along with it, can you rebuild it? How long might that take { I have a big event near the end of April )? How much would that Cost? If not, and I send my carb in as core, how long would it take to get a carb back for me to mount in my jeep?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
We can professionally rebuild yours for your. Please call us toll free and we can go over details.

I have a Carter W-O like the one above. I would like to know if you sell replacement parts. For example: Lever, choke control, w/shaft, assy., Lever, choke, w/ bracket, assy. and the throttle valve, w/ lever, assy.

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:

I have a Carter Carburator in a 1951 CJ3A, Model W-O, 146-94. I am based in Colombia. I understand, I have to send it in order to get a rebuild one for USD $ 299.99. Is that right?. How long will it take?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Yes, we need your old carburetor in first and we can send ours out. Please email mike@kaiserwillys.com direct and we can help you out with this if you are international.

I have 2 cores... both have 8 Patent #'s, Odd for a 1946? seem like 539's no number on throttle body.. one is gold color on silver.. if I sent both core in do I get one like it with a break for the second one? Paul

Willys Tech:
I would need to ID both carbs to see what you have. Please call us toll free and I can help. Thanks!

I would like my original core back once it has been rebuilt. Is it possible to send it to you to have it rebuilt and you send that same one back? If yes, then how long would it take? Thanks

Willys Tech:
Please call us toll free. We can go over all the details. We can rebuild yours for you no problem. They take about 3-5 weeks if we do yours.

Hi, Could you tell me the advantages and disadvantages of the Solex carb versus the Carter w/o? I am working on what I believe to be a CJ3A-(134L motor stamped 3J27794...Carter carb W/O-carb tag # 636SA F-6 . It came with the Carter W/O, Airtex Dual action fuel pump could these be switched to the other single action fuel pump and the solex carb -would the performance be better or worse.. any info you could give me on the motor would be greatly appreciated..Thanks

Willys Tech:
The Solex is a good carburetor. We sell 3-4 per day. However it does not look like the original. If the Carter is rebuilt and set up properly it is a good carburetor as well.

I have a carter W-0 how much is the cost of rebuild it. It was used by one Jeep Willys 1951

Willys Tech:
That is the cost above.

I have a little question about this product. It's need order this product first or just wait you get this product? It's sold out now?(I have a 1942 willys MB)

Willys Tech:
I need your old core in first. You have to ship it into us.

I am restoring my 46 CJ2A and am rebuilding the Carter WO Carb. Do you still have available rebuildable cores if I find that I may need one?

Willys Tech:
Yes, we can come up with a core if you need us to most days.

I Have a Carter YF 738SA,Will the YF938 take its place, Part# 923995. And will you take my Carburetor as a core?

Willys Tech:
If you send us in a YF 738 we have to send you out a YF 738 Carter. Please call us toll free. We can go over the details.

Have the rebuilt carbs been test run and tuned on an engine or just set to the factory positions with the calibration tools? How much tuning is expected to be done when installed? Are the new gaskets going to hold up to the new alcohol blended gas that ate up my old gaskets in a year?

Willys Tech:
Yes these are engine tested. They are all set to factory spec as well. Blended gas is fine for them however we never recommend it. You always want to run non-ethanol fuel if possible.

what causes the choke on carter wo carb to be slightly closed to run good , with the choke all the way open the l 134 does not run good.

Willys Tech:
You may want to tune your carb. I would check your timing and the fuel/air mixture.

How much is it if you do not have the core?

Willys Tech:
Sorry we need your core in on this. We can try to locate you a core if need be. Please call us toll free.

What is the cost of a Carter WO Carb for a 1947CJ2A Jeep without sending a core back to you??

Willys Tech:
We have to have your core in first on these.

Do you include the brass tag if mine is missing from my core?

Willys Tech:
Im sure we have some extra's to make sure you get one.

I have a carter W-O that seems to be complete except for the linkage rod that connects from the upper mouth to the bottom mount. I have the shaft that goes through the bottom of the carb but not the long linkage rod. Do you sale this part separately? and if so what is the part number im looking for? Also is item number 647745-MK the correct rebuild kit for my Carter W-O 146-249

Willys Tech:
Yes that is the correct kit for you. That linkage piece is only availble used.

Do I get my carb back rebuilt, or one that is exactly the same model? I have a 539S (1945 Willys MB), and do not want the other style (636S) as shown on your web page and used on CJ2 with the different linkage and 12 patent numbers. Also, do you rebush the throttle shaft if needed?

Willys Tech:
We can redo yours if you like no problem. You get back the same model you sent us. Yes, they redo everything on these. They are show quality with a one year warrenty.
