Hi, please send me the dimensions of the following carburettors as per your part numbers #923804-A; #647744, A17854 and #923806. I have built a 1953 CJ3B motor in a 1949 CJ3A chassis and body (Tub, fenders and grill)

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
The F head engine will not allow you to close your hood. The carburetors will be too tall. Email mike@kaiserwillys.com to try to help.

I just went through a YS and have a question about the port on the right side of the venturi with the float bowl facing away from you, not the one with the check ball and weight but across from it, there is a divit that looks like a question mark and a port, air does not blow thru it and I haven't seen where it comes into play downstream in the venturi, what am I missing. Thank you Aaron

Email us a photo of yours and we can help out answer question.

Hi Mike !!! I have a YS carb I purchased from K&W --- I can't get it to idol without the choke engaged and throttle out --- fuel pressure is good. Your thoughts ??? Regards Jerry

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Your engine is probably generating poor vacuum. You should be 20 pounds of draw at idle once fully warm and no longer choked. RPM around 475. If you dont have this the carburetor can leak or die because fuel cannot discharge out of the carb properly. I would check your cold valve clearances and use a pressure gauge to check it too.

First -- This is a GREAT service you provide ; so much easier to get answers about specific items -- thanks !!! Looking for a YS-637 w/o a core -- are they available ??

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
We probably can source you a core. Please email mike@kaiserwillys.com. Thanks!

I did not have a carb on my 1952 M38 project when I bought it. How much additional would I have to pay for this carb without a core? It came with a Solex but I want a carter for my project M38. Thanks!

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
We can try to source you a YS core. Please email mike@kaiserwillys.com to help out.

hi i need a bench set carb to replace the one on my m38 1952 , its a carter YS similar to this but the number on it is 0- 548 will this one fit?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
If you have an M38 with a side draft then yours should be stamped 637 on it or have a tag that has those numbers. Please email mike@kaiserwillys.com to help. Thanks!

Hi I live in Sweden and I have a nice M38 (flat fenders) with a Carter YS 637 carburetor.. The carburetor flood the manifold and I have tried everything. Can I send my carburetor by mail and have it rebild with "function guaranteed". I have had the M38 for 10 years. Last summer this problems started. The engine now starts fine run smooth for 30 seconds then start coffing and stops.. When I remove carb there is liquid petrol(gas) in bottom of manifold. Best regards Thomas Bjorkman Falun Sweden .

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Yes, send it into us and we can rebuild it for you. Make sure you contact information is in the box. You most likely have a vacuum leak.
