Does this include the mounting hardware as well as the lug nuts? Thanks

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Yes, it will be as shown in the photos.

What is the distance between the spare carrier and the body of the jeep? My rear tires extend about 3 inches beyond the body of the jeep, so I need to make sure that the carrier extends the spare beyond the mounted rear passenger tire. Thx

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
The spare tire bracket is mounted flush to the body.

Can I mount this carrier on the tailgate of my 1946 CJ2A as if restoring it to match mil-specs by bolting 1/4" steel straps behind it?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
You could with proper backing. You just wont be able to lower the tailgate without removing tire.

What hole spacing will the bracket accommodate? Looking to see if this will handle the bolt pattern for my trailer spare. Thanks.

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
On the side with 3 studs 3 1/8 x 5 ¼ Side with 4 studs 5 ¾ x 5 1/2

What size are the lug nuts that come with this carrier?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Comes with 1/2"-20 thread count nuts. Thanks

HI , do these also fit M38a1

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Yes, any flush mount surface will work. Make sure there is bracing.

How deep of a wheel will this work with? I just got a cj2a but it had modern wheels/tires.

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
It has a depth at mounting surface of 5"

What is the exact location that the mount should go? I have a 48 CJ2A. Do you have measurements?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Your inner wheel well on the passenger side quarter panel on your Willys has a cross pattern brace. We sell the baffle if you need it as well. If your existing braces are there it will line up. Call us toll free and we can help.

Is there any problem installing the Item # 982009 on a 1942 Ford Script?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
765402 I would get this part number too to support it as well if your mounting on the quarter panel. It should be fine on the rear as well.

I have a 1974 Cj5 would this still fit for it

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Yes, these can be mounted just about anywhere.

I lost the lug nuts for my spare tire carrier. What size are they and do you sell them separately

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
635516 is the part number you need.

I have a fiberglass tub on My CJ-2a can i mount this bracket on the fiberglass tub.

Willys Tech:
I would make sure it has a brace to help support it from the backside.

My '47 CJ2a right qtr panel has been patched many times and I can't find evidence of original mounting holes. How do I mount the carrier to be in the original position? Do 2 bolts go thru the inner fender brace, or just one? Is it mounted straigh or at an angle? Lightening hole up or forward? I find pictures with many variations.... but most look like about 10:00 o'clock on the wheel well radius. Thanks and regards, Jeff

Willys Tech:
It is mounted at an angle and one upper and one lower bolt go thru the brace.

Spare tire mount#982009 this looks like it good match the factor holes in my tailgate.Do you know if it would fit? I have a 1970 CJ5

Willys Tech:
They only ever mounted these to the passenger side of the jeep on the rear quarter panel. Im sure it could be done with modification.

I have a 48 CJ2A Lefty will this work for the spare tire? thank you!!

Willys Tech:
It should work just fine.

What is the best way to drill mounting holes from outside quarter panel?

Willys Tech:
Measure twice - drill once. Mock up the bracket so that it lines up with the brace in the inside wheel well.
