I have replaced the speedometer cable on my 1955 truck a couple times but the inner flex shaft keep snapping. I’ll get maybe 40 miles bbefore it breaks. Do I have to lube the cable before installing it? Otherwise, any ideas why they break?

I got a 53 willys pickup truck 4x4 I’m trying to restore to get it back on the road. The original speedometer cable which has a metal case measures at 74 inches and I have bought a 60in while back from another jeep parts carrier and it was too short. Do you guys by chance got a 74 inch cable?

I wish to use this cable to run an Autometer mechanical speedometer that needs a 5/8" X18 with.104" sq male drive cable to run it. Are these the specs for the head on this cable? Thanks for your help. Rich

I would like to add a 90 degree adapter off the transfer case so the cable is under less stress. Do you know of a part number of such adapter or at least the thread pitch of the male transfer case hook up and the pitch of the speedometer threads?

Do you know if VDO made the speedometers for a 1948 truck model. VDO is stamped on the back of my speedo unit. Though it could be some other speedo installed. I recently accuired a 1948 Willys Truck. It has a speedometer that looks period right, and of course no cable. Thanks.

Our '51 PU has an original BEAM speedometer. Will this cable connect properly to the back of this BEAM unit?

Pulled a broken cable from my '49 wagon, 3 spd, 4x4. It measures 76, yours is 60. Is it likely that the one I pulled was not original and the 60 will work? Thanks.

Bought this from you and installed it today. The reading is always 10mph more than what I'm actually going. Any ideas as to why this might be or how I could fix it?
