Is this item available and in stock? I need one for a 1947 CJ2A.

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
For stock level questions, please give us a call. Thank you!

I recently purchased a new speedo cable from you guys, thinking that would fix my problem, but it appears the drive gear in the trans is done in. How is this part removed and replaced on a 48 Jeepster 2wd? And can I get a replacement?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
On the jeepster we should be able to help with a good used one. Email mike@kaiserwillys.com

Im need shaft speedometers gear for jeepster 1948

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
We can probably get you good used. Please email mike@kaiserwillys.com

Will this gear fit a cj3b? The description says 14 tooth count....i counted 15 per the picture shown and that.s what my gear is 15 tooth.

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
A1515 is what I recommend on the CJ-3B.

Is this the sw 448110 part ? this number is on the worn part.

Willys Tech:
I dont go by that part number. It fits 41-45 MB/GPW and early CJ-2A.

Can I change a speedometer gear externally , or do I have to drop the transmission and transfer case?

Willys Tech:
You should be able to remove the driveshaft and unbolt the rear bearing cap that way.

Where do you hook up the speedometer cable?

Willys Tech:
It fits on the passenger side of the transfercase.

My 1960 CJ5 speedometer cable is severed just as it enters the transmission case. There is so little left I can't get a bite on it. How does one get that end out to put another in place or is this something I just need to live without. Thanks

Willys Tech:
It actually attaches at the transfercase. There is a fitting that can be undone right there and you should be able to access it.
