Used for Autolite MZ-4113 & MZ-4137

Bushing is pressed in the bell housing and teh starter armature end fits into it. Used with the early starter with the protruding armature shaft.

So if I have a new 12 V starter, do I even need this? The starter I was sent just has a smooth shaft with nothing on it.

Do you sell replacement freeze plugs for the bellhousing or do they come with the bushing?

You just need to press the old ones out and press the new ones in. Thats pretty much it on that.

Is there an opening in the back of the bell housing to drive it through. I don't see one. Also when you install the new one do you install from the back of the housing?

Willys Tech:
Yes there is a freeze plug there that can be driven out. You can install it either way.

Do you drive it out towards the back or front of the vehicle?

Willys Tech:
Typically out the back so it doesnt fall down into the bellhousing.

okay so how do you get this bushing out?

Willys Tech:
Take a socket or similar bushing and drive it out.
