I have a 1949 CJ3A. My question is about the (2) threaded fittings on the bottom of the tank. One fitting is for the draining of the tank, the other is connects to the fuel line. The fuel tank drain is a threaded plug.(no problem). The other, the fitting that connects to the fuel line is the question. I need to know about that fitting. It seems to be 24 TPI and have an internal flare. I don't want to strip the threads so I need to know some specifics. Thank you.
Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
When the factory painted those tanks, they had the fittings already in there. Clean up the paint on the threads and it should work out for you. If you need to discuss further, please give us a call.

I tried sending this question last week to the public forum, but I haven’t heard anything back. I Purchased this tank and have installed it but no fuel is coming out of the fuel plug. Shouldn’t it be coming out or am I supposed to use the drain plug?
Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
There is a larger drain plug on the bottom and a port for your 1/4" original fuel line. I would just make sure your fuel line does not have a clog or pinch in it.
