I have a return line, will this work

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
No, this would not work with that. Give us a call and we can assist you.

What size fitting do I need for the fuel outlet ?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
The fuel fitting is already part of the tank. No need for a separate fitting.

Will it fit 1973 cj5 Fuel pick up is on top tank through sending unit

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:

Is this supposed to come with the plug for the drain?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Yes, these do come with the drain plug.

there are two holes, do you know what type of thread and size each are? The larger one appears to be 1/4" but the smaller one has a different thread....and cannot figure out the size.

Willys Jeep Parts Tech.:
This tank takes the original 1/4" fuel line screwed directly into it. The other is the drain hole that will come with the plug with the tank.

Is the connection for the fuel line standard pipe thread, or reverse flair fitting thread?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
These take the original 1/4" fuel line to screw directly into the bottom of the tank like original

Mike, Your fuel tank #912008 does not show the return line connection? does tank have TWO ports in the bottom?? OR do I need a return line at all??

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
The closest one for the lock tab style sending unit with return line in it would be: Item # MTS-0042
Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
They never had a return line connection on the tanks and it is not needed. The one port is for your original 1/4" fuel line and the other is a drain hole.

I bought a new fuel tank. On the inlet is there a valve that prevents gas to leak if the fuel line is removed?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
They never used one originally. There is a drain plug if your wanting to drain the fuel separately.

68 cj5 v6, My original tank does not have fuel pick up on bottom, fuel lines connect to sending unit on top with lock ring, no holes on sending unit, can I get sending unit like original but with the six screws and plug bottom fuel pick up or do I have to convert to use bottom fuel pick up and use sending unit #914850 ?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Your tank is still a bottom feed. That is the fuel return line on the sending unit.

We are having problems with the fitment of the tank under the seat. The two tanks we've ordered so far the spout will not center up with the hole on side of body. Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
This tank is the correct one to fit into the vehicle. Typically though you have a lock ring style sending unit in that year. That style tank is not available. You have to get sending unit: 914850 then.

Is the tank painted? If not, what do you recommend? Thanks.

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
These do come painted. There is no reason to coat the inside as long as you use non-ethanol fuel.

I need a fuel tank for a 1971 CJ with the 225 V6. This tank says it fits but looks nothing like mine. My fuel tank mounts between the frame at the rear of the vehicle. Do you have a tank for this?

This is an under the seat mounted tank under driver. If you need a rear mounted tank please call us toll free and we can try to help. Ask for Mike M.

is this the front or rear tank or are they both the same.

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
This is for the rear only. Thanks

I have a 1966 CJ 5 with the buick 225 v6 oddfire that has a return line from the fuel pump. From your pictures I cannot tell if this has a return line. The original had the intake and return lines on the sending unit. Thanks

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
The tank doesn't have a return line, your sending unit is what has it in it.

What brand of tank is this? Who makes it?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
These are a Rugged Ridge. They are the best manufacture of this tank and they are made to original spec.

If you have an under the seat tank yes it will.

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:

Are these gas tanks coated on the inside?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:

My 66 CJ-5 has one fuel tank under the driver's seat and another under the passenger's seat. Is this tank for either side? If not, is there a separate part number for the passenger side or can this fuel tank be modified? Thank you.

This is for drivers side only. Nobody makes a proper passenger side tank.

We have a 70 CJ-5, need a tank, but the sending unit in ours has the locking ring with tangs, not the 6-hole ring. Not finding that solution here.

Willys Tech:
Sorry, nothing like that really exists.

I'm putting a 55 fiberglass body on a M38A1 frame. Can I use this tank. Thanks

Willys Tech:
I dont really recomment the fiberglass bodies. As long as it is a properly made Cj-5 body this tank will be correct.

Online orders over 98.00 ship free. Is that also for this item...being oversized? Thanks.

Willys Tech:
This is an oversized item and has $17.99 shipping on it.

What type and size fitting connects to the outlet on the bottom of the tank?

Willys Tech:
Its standard 1/4 inverted flare like original.

I have a 1970 cj5 it has a locking ring on the tank (not screws) do you have a 10.5 gal. tank that excepts the locking ring/sending unit ?

Willys Tech:
You have to use this tank and get part number: 914850 sending unit if you have a later CJ-5.

Do you have the rubber collar that seals where the fill neck passes through the body?

Willys Tech:
