Are these available with LH and RH threads as the originals were or just RH?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Just the RH. The reverse threaded bushings went into the spring end.

What size bolts are recommended to attach the shackle bracket to the frame?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
These were riveted originally. But i would use the largest size possible. I would also consider welding for sure as well to secure.

'55 M38A1 Front springs rear mount, "C" shackles are mounted THROUGH the frame. This does not look like the original configuration. Is this the part to go back with original setup?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
That is correct on M38A1 its just a different design they used on that particular model.

Do these come with Left Hand or Right Hand threaded bushing?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
RH threaded like original.

Mike, Does this part (the threaded leaf spring bracket, A544) come with the threaded bushing already installed (bushing A546)? Or do I need to order bushing separately? Thanks

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
They come with the threaded insert already in them.

On my 1947 CJ2A, the threaded tube has broken off of the mounting bracket for the right front shackle. I want to replace that bracket. The bracket, however, appears to have been riveted in place. How do I remove it, and how do I attach a new bracket? Does a new bracket come with mounting hardware?

Willys Tech:
You can grind the bracket and then rebolt it up. I recommend going back and welding it in place if possible for safety. Use hardened hardware.

Is it possible to convert the open style shackles to the closed style? It looks like changing these brackets to the non-threaded style would work. Just wondering about the front brackets. Thanks

Willys Tech:
Im sure anything is possible but I really don't think you would get much benefit out of it. The C-shackles are just as good.

Does this shackle bracket item #544 fits cj3b 1960 . tank you!.

Willys Tech:
As long as you are open C-style shackle.

Do these come with bushings installed already?

Willys Tech:
These are bracket only. The shackes are part numbers: 802061 & 802062

Are these the same bushings that are used on the rear of the front spring and the front of the rear springs in a 1949 CJ3A?

Willys Tech:
Yes it takes the same shackle bracket front and rear. There are 4 of there per vehicle.
