I installed the (STEERING BELLCRANK REPAIR KIT (1-1/8" SHAFT) with this new bellcrak shaft and the and the new pin will not fit through the installed bearings. Do you have ay suggestions on how to get the pin through after the new bearing install? I am cautious to push too hard.

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Should be a tight slip fit for sure. Email mike@kaiserwillys.com to help.

Hi, is this part available?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech.:
We will have them back on the site as soon as they are available in a few months. In the mean time see part number: 947009
Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Yes, that is correct.

How do i determine if i had an upward or downward facing bellcrank? The original had been removed from the frame, SN is 184xxx, but some of the other parts for this jeep have been pre 199xxx number.

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Look at your drag link. It will tell you which wall the ball when into it.

My jeep needs a new bell crank and I have one, but it is the wrong style (points up instead of down). Can I convert from a pointing down bell crank to a pointing up by buying the appropriate bell crank repair kit and drag link?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
The main problem with that idea is that no one makes the early style drag link. They are only available good used. Give us a call toll free and we can get you set up. 888.648.4923. Thanks

When I turned my wheels my steering connector rod gets suck on the radiator support beam , what could be the cuz our that .

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Sounds like your pitman arm or wheels may be out of alignment. I would check all your steering.

The bellcrank on my '61 CJ-3b has a 7/8" brass bushing pressed into the steel center. I just bought a bell crank repair kit for you to remove "slop" from the unit. Do I need to drill or press out the brass bushing or replace the bell crank. If replacing, does 647008 have the right diameter to work with the repair kit (920556) I have?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
The bellcrank repair kit just requires your bellcrank. Any old bushings are not used.

How does this part fit a 7/8" and a 1 1/8" shaft? Does it use a reducer bushing?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Yes, there is a sleeve.

Hello, i want to know how much it wheights if it is possible. Thanks, Alvaro.

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
6 pounds boxed

I just installed new bell crank & repair kit and steering is very stiff, even with front wheels off the ground. Could I have overtightened something? Any suggestions? Thanks

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
I would double check it by disconnecting the tie rods and drag link to confirm. You may want to check your king pins too and inside the gear box.

How do you remove a steering connecting rod off the steering arm or the bel crank. My Jeep is a 1951 M38. Thank You. Dan.

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
You just unscrew either end cap on the drag link.

It states this part fits through 71, but the repair kit says it is just up through 66. I need both, but will these 2 parts work on my 1970 CJ5?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
if your a 1970 CJ-5 your probably need part number: 991381. Measure yours and see which you need.

To replace my bell crank on my '63 CJ3-B do I have to purchase the repair kit? or is the kit only if I want to attempt to fix my old one?

Willys Tech:
Yes I would get both the bellcrank and the repair kit to fully do the job while you have it apart.

I believe I have a 48 cj2a I do I know for sure. I have a 3/4 bellcrank shaft I and when I install the bellcrank that bends up the shaft hits the frame and the one that bends down doesn't work for my shaft do I have the wrong shaft if so is I possible to cut off the end and turn it so it fits the one that bends down

Willys Tech:
Please call us toll free, we can help you ID your vehicle and get you fixed up. If you are a 3/4 shaft then your bellcrank bends down and this is no the part for you. These are for 7/8 diameter shafts.

does this bellcrank 647008 use the 7/8s repair kit 920556

Willys Tech:
Yes that is correct. They are matching parts.

Need to find new or used CJ2A '46 bellcrank bending down. Can you direct me?

Willys Tech:
Please call us toll free. We can help you find a good used one.

can an early CJ2a with the ball turned down be converted to this style?

Willys Tech:
No, they are not interchangable.

Does it come with the brass bushing?

Willys Tech:
The bushings are part of the bellcrank repair kits that we sell.

I have a 54 Willy M38A1. The Bellcrank is very loose which means I need to repair the gears in the gear box since the bellcrank is very loose. However, I am unable to remove the Steering Wheel, thus the steering box to repair. Can this be accomplished while still in the jeep, or does this require enough space? I hope I asked this correctly.

Willys Tech:
You will really need to remove the steering wheel. Order part number: WP300 on our site. It will get you fixed up.

I need a bellcrank for a 1946 CJ2A ser# 24949

Willys Tech:
That is the style that the ball bends down on the steering bellcrank. We can probably get good used.

Will this part fit a 1969 jeepster commando?

Willys Tech:
Yes I believe it is correct.

I have a 46 Cj2a S/N 25459 with 3 on the tree. However the bell crank knob turns down. How can I order a good used one. is there a part number or listing?

Willys Tech:
Please call us toll free. We may be able to get you good used.

Do you have one of these that will fit an early 46 CJ2A (column shift model)?

Willys Tech:
The early CJ-2A with ball bending down are available good used right now.

I know this is probably a dumb question but will this work on a CJ2A before Ser#199079

Willys Tech:
As long as your ball bends up.

Does the steering bellcrank come with a bellcrank repair kit?

Willys Tech:
This is bellcrank only.

Have 1953 CJ3B, working on steering, purchased tierods, bellcrank...My Jeep has an item attached to the Bellcrank that I do not see in steering parts listings...Not sure if it is a later add on? Can I send a picture some where?

Willys Tech:
Please call us toll free. We are more than happy to help.

Willys Tech:
Yes it is the correct one.
