Does this horn brush require removal of brass so the cover will sit down on the outer tube? I have replaced the horn contact bushing and horn button repair kit. Even though the hex on the brass is fully inserted into the plastic insulator, there is about 1/8 gap before the cover will sit down on the outer tube.

You take part number A302B and slide it down the shaft. Then A302 contact should hit the brass on the bushing. You sauder your wire then to the A302B. Make sure not to melt the rubber insulator.

1972 CJ5 is my jeep. I need to replace the original. Outside tab has fallen off. Whar are the measurements of this item. The original piece is an 1.5 inches long with the holes 1 inch on center.
