I just rebuilt my steering gear box and used the tight steer on it. I only feel pressure when the tightsteer is screwed all the way down and then my sector shaft moves in and out of the house at about 1/4 to a 1/2 inch. Is this normal or is there an underlying issue?
Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Sounds like you need to check your gear box for excessive play/wear and the bushings/shims in there too.
