Free play reducer for Ross Steering Boxes.

The TightSteer is an aftermarket devise that is designed to reduce freeplay in steering systems that is common in Willys.

The TightSteer is a spring-loaded mechanism that replaces the sector shafts' set screw and provides constant pressure thru the entire rotation of the worm gear. It reduces free play and the dreaded 'Willys Wobble".

My steering box # TL122992-B I believe that my 1961 Willys Wagon may have a variety of front end steering components. What steering box is this for sure? I have several hundred dollars in parts just in this order and want to get the right ones. Thanks for your help...again!

Will this fit a 1960 Station Wagon 226 4WD the instructions say only 2WD

716100 is the part number your looking for.

How and where does this part attach to steering? I am replacing front shocks and adding a steering stablizer.What else can I do to correct the play and willys wobble?

Willys Tech:
This goes inside the steering gear box with the worm gear. I would suggest part number: SJ-7100 as well.

Will this fit my '61 FC-170? It has a Ross steering box.

Willys Tech:
As long as you have the same 1 diamter sector shaft used by the Willys Truck and Staion waon.

Will this work on 1967 jeepster?

Willys Tech:
No the Jeepster used a different gear box. This is for the vehicles listed above only.
