I have a 1942 Ford GPW with the "late" style emergency brake internal shoe and am thinking of replacing the existing brake with the proper external brake and need to replace the my existing Output Shaft that is for an internal system, with this Output Shaft for the external system. Question is, do I use the same amount of shims that are currently on my output shaft? Thanks,

Once you set it up you will need to check your end play on the shaft and shim accordingly to make sure its set up right.

Do bolts for this use traditional lock washers or copper flat washers Thanks
