1961 CJ5 The OEM bracket has a tube the bushing goes into. This is the replacement for that bracket?

There isn't a tube in that bracket originally. If there were a tube, you wouldn't be able to put the leaf spring in place.

It is designed for 1-3/4" leaf springs. They slide right up between the sides with just a bit of clearance. If your 2.5" that sounds more like Willys Truck rear.
